Dr. SK Rajan is a former Professor of neurosurgery and a senior neuro-spine surgeon based in New Delhi. He is currently leading a team of full time neurosurgeons to head the neurosurgery department at a well established 400 bedded super specialty hospital in West Delhi. In the evenings he offers consultations to patients from in and around Delhi (& various parts of North India) at his private clinic in Punjabi Bagh region of West Delhi. Dr. Rajan has studied and trained at premier institutions of the country such as PGIMER (Chandigarh) and GB Pant Hospital (New Delhi). Realizing that neurosurgery demands expertise of a very high order, Dr. Rajan underwent a number of advanced neurosurgery fellowships with leading surgeons in USA, UK and Mumbai. This has been interspersed with independent cranial and spine surgeries at various hospitals during and post this period. Dr. SK Rajan is currently the chief spine surgeon and head of the department of neurosurgery at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, New Delhi. At this hospital, Dr. Rajan has been responsible for many noted accomplishments. He is credited with being among the first surgeons who performed artificial disc surgery, dynamic lumbar implant placement and minimally invasive spinal tumor surgeries (miss) in the region. He is also recognized for tripling the number of spine surgeries performed and adding credibility to the department by guiding its transition from a sub-speciality to one being run by a full-time faculty. Prior to his current position, Dr. Rajan served as consultant neurosurgeon & assistant professor at the department of neurosurgery, VM Medical College and associated Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.
